This is for the moms, dads, parents, grandparents, to the caretakers. To those who give to infinity. To those who hear the words “I don’t know how you do it”.
Disabilities are not always visible. Masking is real. Trust your intuition. Even the professionals can steer your child towards the wrong path. Trust your gut. Trust yourself. Especially now. Your intuition is most definitely right.
This is just one story. Our story. There is no right or wrong. This is not a “How to” manual. There is no do it this way, or that way, or correct steps to follow. The fact is, there is no direction better than your own. This is your unique journey. There is no greater love than the love you have for your child.
As a Mom to a teen with autism I have walked along this path. The path is never too long for the most precious of gifts. Trust. Fail. Fall. Stand up.
